Bridgewater Plaza Central Sewer System

The Bridgewater Plaza Central Sewer System is another privately owned municipal styled central sewer system designed, constructed, and operated in Franklin County, Virginia. The project provides wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal for Bridgewater Plaza (an existing commercial area), Bridgewater Point (a series of high-rise condominiums with 96 condo units), and eventually Bridgewater Grande and Village Resort (a planned multi-use residential and commercial development). All three developments are located in close proximity to Hales Ford Bridge along Route 122 at Smith Mountain Lake.

The picture above depicts a long axis view of the first 50,000 GPD wastewater treatment module, 20,000 gallon treated effluent pump station with valve vault and magnetic flow meter station. A second 50,000 GPD treatment module will be installed parallel to the one show above to bring total treatment capacity to 100,000 GPD. The system utilizes the BioWheel treatment process and enjoys the benefits of advanced secondary treatment, easy operation, and reduced electrical energy consumption. This particular WWTP facility has been on-line since 2005.
