Company Philosophy

ACS DESIGN employs a unique philosophy with regard to the design and construction industry. In the modern era, the construction process has become splintered as architects and engineers, regardless of discipline, are mostly no longer closely associated with the construction aspect of their projects. Conversely, most general contractors have distanced themselves from the design function of the projects they attempt to construct. Without practical hands-on application of current means and methods of construction, designers tend to produce final designs that are more expensive, less efficient, or in some cases “un-buildable”. Contractors lacking a solid understanding of the design process are usually unable to make suggestions, revisions, or corrections for the fear of incurring financial liability, suffering legal retribution, or in some instances, they just do not care about the overall project. This divergence combined with mutual distrust, ego, and negative emotion unfortunately creates problems on both sides of the construction project and in the end, it is usually the owner who is left victimized by the process.

ACS DESIGN recognizes this common and unfortunate aspect of the design and construction process and uses it for motivation to provide an atmosphere and experience that is positive and mutually beneficial for all parties involved. By utilizing our experience as both designers and builders, we feel that we are providing every project and owner with the very best in customer satisfaction.

The following are the three main principles that govern our corporate philosophy:

Coordination:
By bringing all disciplines together and sharing information and resources, we have developed a better understanding of the total project. Each member of our project team understands the responsibilities of his or her team members and can more effectively make design and management decisions. It is not uncommon for one discipline to make suggestions that better the design of the other discipline. As a result of effective design and project coordination, project time is reduced and the cost savings are passed on to the owner.

Cost:
As everyone knows, the most influential factor affecting design and construction of any facility is cost. During the schematic, or concept, design development phase of any project, it is company policy to include periodic reviews by our in-house construction professionals. By performing these reviews, we can identify potential construction problems and modify the final designs, which therefore eliminate unnecessary costs that would be incurred by the owner.

Customer:
Our single and most important goal is customer satisfaction. By communicating effectively with the client, understanding the client’s needs, and providing attentive personalized service, we know that the end result will be a positive, reaffirming experience.
