Project Engineer:
This position requires experienced candidates with 5+ years experience in site planning, land development, municipal engineering, and water/wastewater design. Proficiency in AutoCad Land Development Desktop is a must. Licensure as a Professional Engineer by the State of Virginia is required for this position. A person who is a team player and can maintain project budgets and schedules is an ideal candidate. This position requires real world experience in, and a desire to provide, civil/site design including site planning, layout, grading, drainage, utility, road and parking design for residential, commercial, retail, educational, recreational facilities development. Experience with water and wastewater design considered beneficial, but not mandatory. The ability to communicate both orally and in writing to clients and outside agencies is a must

Wastewater Engineer:
This specialized position requires experienced candidates with 7-10 years experience in utility and wastewater design and project management. Design of water & sanitary sewer systems, water treatment, wastewater treatment, on-site and discharging systems, and knowledge of DEQ/VDH regulations is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in AutoCad Land Development Desktop is a plus. Licensure as a Professional Engineer by the State of Virginia is required for this position. Traffic Engineer:
Southwest Virginia Engineering Company is seeking to employ a motivated Traffic Engineering Department Head in its Roanoke, Virginia and Hardy, Virginia (Smith Mountain Lake) offices. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Engineer who desires more than a cubical and a set of plans. The ideal candidate will assist with our current planning and engineering projects, but would be responsible for developing and managing new clients and assisting other local firms who do not have traffic engineering capabilities. Applicant must have 5 to 8 years of progressive experience relative to traffic engineering with a consulting Engineer or State DOT. Technical responsibilities include performing Traffic Impact Analysis, signal design, parking studies, development of circulation plans, construction traffic management and control plans, roadway signing/striping plans, and roadway / intersection design for residential and commercial development. Coordination with local DOT and Municipal staff is paramount. Proficiency in AutoCAD Land Development Desktop is a must. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. EIT Required, PE Preferred. Salary is commensurate with level of professional experience. Full benefits package available.
